Team sleepover #2

Linde and Leah came over Saturday night for a team sleepover. They played all night and got ready for bed loaded with an arsenal of books. They were do cute reading to each other! Which ever one was reading, if they were having trouble with a word, the other team mate would let them know what it was. I eavesdropped on them for a while before they noticed that I was there. So cute!!

Thanksgiving 2012

So, thanksgiving came and went like the wind. We had such a short time to catch up with family and friends and not enough pictures were taken. Reed and Nolan hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving and got to spend it where ever it was best for you! Cheers to another 8 pounds gained in one day! Gobble, gobble, gobble...barf!

Goooo Dawgs, sic 'em!

Today, we hunkered down at Sanford Stadium to watch the dawgs (eventually) beat the snot out of the Georgia Southern eagles. We had super sweet seats-- thank you Denney Family--awesome chilly weather, and loads of great plays to cheer for. I don't know why we don't go to more games. We love the bulldogs! We tailgated with Bob, Mika and Jackson in the same lot we used to tailgate in back in our college days. Then, after the game, we got to meet UGA IX! He's so stinkin' cute!!

PTA performance fallout

Last night, the boys had their first little on stage performance after a quick PTA meeting. Apparently, I got the memo that Nolan's class needed to have beards painted on their faces and thought Reed needed a facial hair making as well. As it turned out, Nolan's class was all Puritan men and women and Reed's class were turkeys. This year, Arnold Mill Elem had their first ever turkey with a mustache! Oh well, he loved it at first but once the performance got underway, I saw him slowly stepping his way off stage, until I saw him turn around and put his hands on his face, visibly crying. Here we go! His teacher took him off stage and brought him to me to watch the rest of the show from the audience. Nolan did great! He sang the songs, did the hand gestures, even filed out of the stage like he was supposed to. Then his water works started! What!!!?? "no fair Reed got to come sit with you! I wanted to sit with you, too!!!" Are you kidding me? Looks like they've saved me a trip to the PTA meeting next year! Apparently, these boys weren't cut out for shoebiz. At least we know now!
The were so incredibly tired last night, as soon as we got in the car, they both sacked out. Guess we won't be following in the footsteps of brothers Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen! (phew!!)

Daddie lunch date

Today, Todd took a well needed mental vacation day away from work to run some errands, do stuff around the house, run some of my errands (teehee!), and have lunch with the boys. I'm not sure who was more excited...this picture shows the boys all smiles, but I think daddie was just as happy to see them in 'action' at school.

4th time's a charm

Nolan has had a wiggly tooth for the past few days. Today, he told us 'I wiggled it one time, then two times, then three times, then four times and it came out. And then I had to see the nurse because there was blood and she gave me a small bag!' I had to sneak this picture because I forgot to take one while he was awake. This was literally 3 minutes after I left their bedroom tonight. These boys don't mess around with their sleep!

Slumber Buddies

Yesterday after I toted the boys with me to tennis, we picked up their buddy, Logan, and brought him over for a sleepover. They played in the yard, had pizza (and in Logan-lingo, a nice salad), watched the Bulldogs pull out another victory, played the Wii and everything else boys at 5&6 like to do.

Who says candy is bad for your teeth?

So, maybe it was Todd's idea to use taffy to aide in pulling out a tooth and maybe it was me that jumped up to get it! Nonetheless, Reed thought it was a great idea and swiftly obliged in order to have a sweet treat after dinner. (this is not usual behavior in the McLure household, I assure you!) Here he is holding the fallen soldier and the convicted assaulterer!

A-town=fun-town

Last weekend, after our last soccer game, we trucked it on over to Athens to spend some time in our old stomping grounds. We finished off the weekend with a brunch at the Grit. Mmmmm, love those Athens resty's!

Tatted Appendages

For Halloween, I 'dressed up' as a bat-tat girl. Not sure what that was other than I had a headband with bats on it and wore fake tattoo sleeves. Nolan got into the tattoo sleeves yesterday and found another place to wear them!

All hallow's eve, 2012

Happy dia de la muerte!! Last night we had the Turner's, Tyson's, Tuttle's and Jammy/Grandy over for some spooky Halloween festivities. We had dinner and then terrorized the neighborhood with our crazy trick-or-treat haunts. It was quite a sight as we've never been in our 'hood for Halloween, there were so many kids running around, it was hard to keep up with which kid went with which parent! Anyhoo, they had so much fun and really racked up in terms of loot. Until next year!!!
