Seriously, Cherokee county?!!

How do you have a 'snow day' when there's no snow? Just ask the government officials of Cherokee County because apparently 33 degrees and not a drop of precipitation is an obvious reason to shut down schools, displace children, keep people from working...and standing lunch dates with friends!! I'm more concerned with the latter. Hopefully, we'll find enough to do in this treacherous weather! Be careful out there all you Woodstockians!!!

Pffft, grown up

Tonight Nolan was reading "Dance, Dora, Dance" to me and when he would get to words he didn't know, he'd say the word that he thought it resembled. When I would correct him on the bigger words, he'd repeat them and keep reading. But, when we got to one particularly long word, Nolan said "geez, do you know every word?!?" and I said, "yes". He proceeded to roll his eyes and say, "pffft, you really are a GROWN up." When did he catch on?!?

100 days of kindergarten, down!

I can't believe the boys have already been in Kindee-garden for 100 days! It's amazing how fast time goes. They didn't get dressed up but they did take their Cheerios necklaces Todd and I made for them with, yep, you guessed it, 100 Cheerios on it.

Bookin' it

Lately, the boys have been doing very well with their reading. Their teachers sent home a reading chart for them to keep track over the next month. If they read 6 hours between now and february 15th, they get a free ticket to Six Flags. When I told Nolan that he would be rewarded if he could do the reading, he asked me "well, if there's SIX Flags, where did the first flag go?" OMgah. So funny! They've even kept up with it on their boys trip to Athens this weekend.

No words...

For the past few days, Reed has been begging me to paint his fingernails and toenails. This morning at 6:45 he got out all of my nail polishes and picked 8 suitable colors...this is the result. He was tickled blue, green, yellow, turquoise, red, brown, and taupe but not pink because that would be gay. LoL (and I don't own any pink polish!)

Proud moments...

**this was an email I received today. Buckaroos are little yellow tickets for good behavior. Makes a mama proud!!!**

Nolan McLure (kindergartener) is the first student at Arnold Mill Elementary School to save 30 buckaroos for a PBIS t-shirt. Arnold Mill Elementary School has implemented a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program (PBIS) where students earn buckaroos for being caught going above and beyond. Throughout the year, the school has four reward days and also maintains a General Store where students can trade-in buckaroos for items. We are proud that Nolan was able to save 30 buckaroos to get a new t-shirt!

Oppan gangnam style

Kathy and I leave the boys for an hour and our house becomes an all out Psy disco! They were dancing like fools and didn't even stop when we came in to watch. (Ryan is the one in red, Reed decided he could dance better if he took his shirt off and Nolan was just jumping around like a crazy bean!)

Happy new years eve!

We rang in the new year (well, from the hours of 6-10pm) with the Perry family. We had an awesome dinner, set off fireworks, and the kids played until they just about passed out. Reed and Nolan's new fun game is called 'dog and owner' where Hannah is the owner and Reed, Nolan, and Trevor were the dogs. Smart girl, that Hannah!
