A boy and his dog

Yesterday Reed cuddled up to Polly and said over and over and over "Mommie! Take our picture!"

Special Needs

So, this morning we were rushing around trying to get ready for school...same old story, everyone has similar situations. However, as I was detangling and combing the luscious blond locks of my oldest child, the youngest calls from the entry way..."hey! Can someone PLEASE help the one-armed kid in here!!!"  He was having a hard time with his cast getting his backpack together and coat on, but it was the funniest thing I heard all day from such the little pipsqueak!

Plays and play dates

Last weekend was so busy with surgeries and hospital events surrounded by Nolan, I didn't have time to post about Reed!
Reed got to have a play date with his self quoted 'BFF', Cameron, and even though they only got to play for a little while, they were all giggles all the time.

Then, Reed and I booked it up to Anna and Wil's school to see them in the production of 'Annie' that their drama department put on. Holy cow! Who knew we had such actors in our midst!! Anna was Mrs. Hannigan and Wil was Drake the Butler. They both did such great jobs and we were so excited to have seen it. Reed then got to have a sleepover with the 'team' at the Goodloe's house. I'm sure he hammed it up being there without his brother, what do you think??

Lastly, we got to spend Sunday celebrating the girl twins birthday. The big 8!! They went to skyzone and then came back to Dawn's house for pizza and cake and run around the house acting crazy.

Happy bday girls! We love ya!!!

CHOA X 2

Over the past few days we have definitely burned up the highway between our house and the hospital. Nolan had his adenoids taken out and tubes put in (for the 2nd time) and came out of surgery wth flying colors. (Thanks -Jammy- for being with us at the hospital!) He recovered just in time to play a double header soccer game with his team yesterday. Thanks goes out to the twins' biggest fans (Nana, Jammy and Grandy) for coming to cheer on the boys!!
Then, last night as we were having a lovely St.Paddy's day dinner with the Martins, all the kiddos were outside playing flag football in the yard. Nolan comes in screaming like a banshee that the inside of his arm hurts! Another trip to the hospital, this time at 9pm, was the plan of our attack. Turns out that he fractured his elbow and got a really cool cast! Sadly, this will inhibit his soccer playing for the next few weeks, but he's excited to have everyone sign his cast. So, come one, come all, line up with your sharpies!!

Above=tubes, scheduled
Below=cast, not so-scheduled

Sweet condolences

One of the little neighbor girls was very sad that Nekoh had passed away and she wanted to share her feelings of grief thru a handmade card.

Nothing like a 7-year-old to put it to you straight!! I can't stop looking at it, I think it's hilarious!

Sunday, funday, playday

This past Sunday was quite the busy day! Lindara and I took my boys, Anna, Wil and Wil's friend Owen to a play in downtown Atlanta. It was 'Where the Mountain Meets the Moon' and it was fantastic! This is our favorite playhouse as the set, actors, seating and everything else is just so amazing and kid friendly. They had a raffle at the beginning of the show to give away a few kites. Just like the last time we were here to see 'Peter Pan and Wendy' Anna won the drawing!

We then made our way to Nana and Poppa's house for our regular Sunday dinner and Jane and Chuck were in town for a visit. We always love getting pics of any twins we can!

And just before bedtime, Polly decided to play hide-and-seek with the boys.

Someone should teach her how to hide more than just her head!

Spring, ahoy!

With spring within our grasp, it is time to act wacky and sporty and take to the outdoors.
Last week, the boys had 'dress up like an adjective day' at school. Nolan wanted to be 'athletic' and Reed went more on the 'silly' side.

Since it was such a pretty, wonderful, sun-shining day (like the adjectives?) we took our first hike of the year with their buddy, Ryan. After which, ice cream was definitely a necessity at a cute little place in downtown Roswell called 'Sweet'.

And, it couldn't have been a better Saturday to start off their soccer season!
Cheers to the sun!!

Only the good die young

Truer words cannot be spoken of the sweetest husky we could have ever loved. Nekoh decided his departure date to be just over 6 weeks of being diagnosed with hemangiocarcinoma, a real bitch of a cancer. (Are any of them not a real bitch?!?)
The boys were very sad to see him go. Reed made sure to tell us that we had to call and tell everyone that he had died. Nolan asked why we couldn't just get him 2 new kidneys and a heart? Ugh, just heartbreaking to see two little boys so upset over their beloved pet.
As hard as it was to say Bon voyage, we wouldn't have traded the past 10 years with him to be without him. He can now chase all the kitties he wants and pant his hot breath on several other unsuspecting victims (a trait he donned well). We will always love our sweet Neeks!!

10 down...?? To go!!

Yesterday Todd and I celebrated 10 blissful years of wedlock. We've taken the good, we've taken the bad, taken them both and there we have...10 years!
Cheers to the next decade and many more to come :0)
