What did we do today?

Maybe you would think that we sat around and watched tv....or played a ton of video games until our eyes bulged out of our heads...or ate potato chips and bubble gum while our teeth and stomachs ached? I mean, it was a day off from school and aren't those the things you do?!?
Not this bunch! We started off going to the gym where the boys did their rendition of the Charlie brown football kick. They were in there an hour and a half while I ran and killed myself at yoga sculpt (laugh now, but it was dang hard!).
Then, after some errands and lounging around...the boys learned to ride their big boys bikes!!!! It was quite an exciting time for all of us, especially them, because no way shape or form were there training wheels present! The picked it up in about 30 minutes and before we knew it, they were riding up and down the street without ANY help!!! They were so proud of themselves and so were we. Amazing!
After all that, we went out for a tasty pizza dinner and then on to cheer on RHS football! It was the season opener so the stadium was packed. The boys didn't care as long as they got to see the game. Reed looked over at one point and said,"daddie, I wish Ryan Lotche was here!" Um, sorry Reed but I'm pretty sure a gold winning Olympic swimmer has a lot better to do with his time than go to a high school football game! So freaking funny! They really didn't want to go home, but at 9pm and still beach packing to do, we bid Ray Manus stadium adieu, but I'm pretty sure we'll be back!
(sorry, the photos are a bit out of order!)

Uh-oh, trouble

When I got home yesterday, Todd asked Nolan if he wanted to show me his behavior chart for the day. Nolan immediately started crying and told me NOT to look at it and also didn't want to show me. After a few minutes of coaxing, he finally showed me his chart, the color orange he was on (not a good color) and the little note that said 'spit in a girls face.' Um, an explanation was in order and he told me that he was ultimately messing around with Tristan and did a raspberry noise/kinda spit in her face deal. He was so sad that he did it and had to move his clip. We sat him down, had him write an apology note to Tristan and then write the following sentences. I'm pretty sure he's going to pull her pony tails on the playground tomorrow!

Do the monster (truck) mash

Yesterday, we celebrated the boys upcoming 5th birthday, monster jam-style! We had a monster truck jumpy house/slide combo, hair spray painting station, tattoo parlor, photo shoot area, and a marvelous cake! All surrounded by good friends and family; thank you so much to all that came and made this party really special for our sweet little truckers.
Of course, we're still eating off of the remainder of the cake and leftovers, but it's all "sooo good and it's my favorite part of my birthday party,"says Reed.
And, yes, that's Pete in the jumpy after all the kids had left. Who knew she had such a wacky side!!

I wanna be a cowboy

I found these cowboy boots at a consignment sale a few weeks ago and have forgotten all about them until Nolan found them in my car. Now, the boys are truly in love with them and wear them all over the place. Reed even said he wants a pair of red ones that are ALL HIS!

My lords

Last night we decided at the last minute to go to Medieval Times and watch a good knight fight and eat with our hands! What a fun night it was. I don't know who was more excited; the boys watching the show or us watching the excitement in the boys. Our blue knight did not win the battle but our team of the red and yellow knight did and the boys were stoked!

Man Power

Last night the boys helped us deliver water to our friend Katie's house to help with the Bresta Fiesta tennis tournament this weekend. Look how strong they are!!!

That's one Marvelous Monkey!

The boys have behavior charts in their kindergarten classes and each day we encourage them to do their best and move 'up' the good side of the chart. Reed was the first one to rise up and become a marvelous monkey which meant he had exceptional behavior for the day!!! Yay, way to go, Reed!

40 years young

The other day (oops!) my big brother, Sean, celebrated his 40th bday. Hope it was a great one! Happy birthday, brotha!!!

Hobby Lobby=playground?

Yesterday I took the boys to Hobby Lobby for some bday party items and the like, and what do I find them doing when I'm looking at cupcake liners? They've got all the dinosaurs, sharks, whales, and giraffes out of the clearance section and having 'land of the wax animals' game. They could have stayed there all day, I'm pretty sure. I'll remember this free factoid the next time I plan on taking them somewhere that costs a fortune for a family of 4 to enjoy something as much as they did here.

No bunny knows...

The trouble I've seen. No bunny knows my sorrows!
Isn't that the song she'd be singing if she spoke English?!?

Baby O

Last Sunday (I can't believe I forgot to post this) Lindsey and Linda held a baby shower for Mrs. Ashley K and her baby O. We had fun getting together, talking about baby stuff, and eating and drinking the fabulous vineyard food!

Monster truck mayhem!

Well, maybe not as mayhem-ic as we thought it was going to be, but still a fun day to walk around and look at car parts. I was particularly fascinated at the people watching and the boys liked to climb in the vehicles while Todd was off at the tables gathering free stickers, brochures, and posters!

Day 1...success!

The boys had a great 1st day of school today, Reed's teacher even said he was doing great! Quite the compliment seeing as his partner in 'get-in-trouble' crime ended up in his class this year. Argh! Nolan had a sticker his teacher gave him for being good during rest time. We McLure's sure love to sleep! They rode the the bus home and had no hiccups as far as we know. Great job boys!! Now, we're sitting at Cloud 9 having an after school ice cream treat. Mmmmm, yum!

Kindergarten Bound!

Today was Reed and Nolan's 1st day of REAL school! Holy cow. I knew it was coming, and I'm not sure what I'm feeling, but it's all going so fast. We waited at the bus stop with our neighbors; 2 other kindergarteners and one 4th grader. When the bus came, they all hopped on and took off! We'll see how it all played out later today when we get them off the bus. >sniff, sniff< Polly was even a bit concerned about her brothers leaving her without as much as a quick lick on the cheek!
