All about that yum

This week we got to see a very sweet
Mtn Boogie from the hills of Dahlonega and her cute little baby bump! She was nice enough to bring Reed some of his favorite venison chili that he had several months ago at their winery and can't stop talking about. She brought us enough to last thru the winter, but with Reed in full chili mode, it has lasted only a week! Thanks, Bogus!!

Special treatment

What an awesome weekend we all had! Todd and Jammy took the boys to the Georgia game on Saturday. They got to ride in a limo to the game with Marshall Morgan's family and friends (kicker for UGA), go to the Dawgwalk where all the players come through and you can high 5 them, shop at the bookstore and then sit in the family box with Marshall's family. Afterwards, they went back to Marshall's house to spend some quality time with their favorite kicker and learn all about the Bulldawgs. They will remember this for the rest of their lives and they had so much fun telling me all about it. I'm glad for them that it was a high scoring game so they could see a lot of action. Woohoo!

My weekend was a bit different but equally as amazing. Two of my bestest buddies, Erika and Lorin, stole me from my house and whisked me away to Nashville for a quick girls trip!  They had been planning and planning and planning this trip for the last couple of months and did a great job keeping it a secret as long as they did. What they didn't tell me until we got there was that they got me a ticket to see the Rockette's Christmas Spectacular! And spectacular it was!  We hung out in downtown Nashville trying the local drink and fare, trying on cowboy boots, and taking in the sights and sounds of country singers and swinging saloons. It was awesome! Nashville is such a cute and cool town, I'm just sad it was a short trip. I can't wait to go back!!

Star Student Nov 2014

Twinkle, twinkle, little STAR student! Every month the whole school votes on a 'star' student to represent their grade, and this month the second grade class voted for Reed. He was so excited to tell us and got his award today, picture with the principal, and the 5 (K-5)
students chosen got to say the pledge of allegiance over the morning intercom. Way to go, Reed! We are so proud!!

Happy Nov bdays!

Last weekend the Halloran clan celebrated two birthdays, Braden who turned 9 and Burke who is now 40-something-different-from-last-year. Since Todd wanted the boys to play in an indoor soccer game Sunday night and Keely had Cotillion, I picked up the other set of twins and Ryan and we went to dinner at the Halloran's.
Happy bday, Braden! And thanks to the Halloran's for supplying the entire night's eats and drinks! Everything was fantastic.
On another note, the boys played in an indoor soccer game that night and beat their opponents something to the time of 11-5. Amazing. The center director asked Todd and our friend's dad if our boys and one of his boys could fill in on a U11 game. Nolan was too tired to play but Reed and Gracen jumped right in! The director said that if they continue on the indoor circuit they need to be playing on the U11 team, for real! Seriously?!! Wow, I'm just amazed that these boys are doing so well with soccer and it really excites them to be playing with the 'BIG kids!'  Awesome!
(I don't have any pics because I didn't go and Todd only took a short video. Next time!)

All lit up

I can't believe I forgot to post pictures of the Great Pumpkins we (and by 'we' I mean the boys picked out the designs, I cut and carved and Jammy picked apart the seeds from the guts!) created for all hallow's eve!

Happy Hallow-minions!

Halloween 2014 is one for the books! We had several neighbors and friends over for dinner followed by some serious trick-or-treating. We had princesses, the hulk, a transformer, a storm trooper, and even an adult penguin! This is the first year the boys really went wild. We would walk to the top of a cul-de-sac and let them hit all the houses while the adults chatted, drank, and listened to our traveling music. There were times when I couldn't tell where the boys were. And then I would see a purple minion sprint across the street heading towards the next candy gold mine. Nolan even yelled at him one time, "reed! How do you have so much leg energy?!?" It was a great night. Nolan told me later that he wishes Halloween could be every night of the year!

Raising $ and hair for PE

All last week the boys' school has been letting the kids do silly/sporty stuff to raise money for their PE department. One day they wore their favor jersey, the next it was 'hat day' and on and on. One of the days it was 'crazy hair' which typically translates to either a Mohawk or a bunch of rubber bands. We got a little of both that day.
Reed was really one of the only few kids that applied themselves to crazy hair day!
Maybe it was 'bright green shirt' day and Nolan did both. Who knows!?!
