Live action super heroes
Last weekend Jammy took us to see the Marvel Universe Live show at the Gwinette Arena. The boys are pretty familiar with the normal superheroes i.e. Spider-Man, iron man, the hulk, etc. but when they started asking who the villains on the stage were, Todd and I both struggled wih some of their names. (Come to find out later the villain that looked like a lizard was, in fact, named Lizard. The rhino named Rhino. It wasn't difficult to figure out the rest from there!). It was an incredible show and the boys were enthralled the entire time. (Spoiler alert) In the end, the heroes won the fight!

A night at the movies
Every year for our Christmas gift, Sean and Lindara give everyone tickets to an event. This year, we all got movie tickets at the AMC north point mall 'experience' theater where your chairs recline and foot rest props your feet up. Comfy!! The movie was great and we all had so much fun being together. Thanks Dar and Sean!!
Santa came to town
Apparently Santa thought the boys had been really good this year given the amount of presents he brought them! Of course, it only took minutes to unwrap their mountain of gifts. Their favorite gifts, by far, have been their own 'phones' (iPods, really) and roller skates. Reed woke up this morning, got dressed and is now sitting on the couch, playing his iPod with his skates on. Love it! We all had a very merry Christmas, even Polly!
After the present opening extravaganzaa, we loaded up and headed over to Bobby and Emogene's house for Christmas suppah, and family time with Jemmay's side of the family. The boys love going over there because they have a ping pong table in the basement and they live on a gold course. Between the (more) presents, playing ping pong, putting on the 16th hole, and amazing food, they had a blast! I didn't take any pictures but did manage to steal a few from cousin Jay's stash.
Morning giggle
Today as Nolan and I were having morning snuggles on the couch, he wanted to give Polly a kiss. Naturally, I grabbed her snout and held her so Nolan could do his smoochin'. He planted a big one on her nose and then said "eew, her nose touched in that thing where I would grow a moustache!"

It's Halloran time
On Christmas Eve, we spent most of the day with the Halloran/Goodloe fam at Nana and Poppa's. Ryan shot off a really cool rocket, all the kids ran around inside due to unfavorable weather conditions, we ate and drank until our elastic waistbands couldn't take anymore (and then we ate some more) and then we opened presents. We even introduced Ryan and Wil to the movie 'Christmas Vacation', it gets funnier every time!

These are the days of our elves (que soap opera music)
They've had sack races, hidden dozens of candy canes around the house for the boys to seek, played a game of baseball in their bedroom, held a strongest elf competition, and on their last night trained a bunch of stuffed animals (and Polly) how to spread Christmas cheer while they are gone.
Last weekend was the McLure family Christmas in Athens with Jammy, Grandy, Charles, Pat, John, Michelle, Wesley, Liz, Nar, Hunter and Lilly. The boys had so much fun chasing and being chased by Lilly. We wish she lived closer so she could babysit!
At first, Lilly was scared of Polly. But when she noticed that Polly wanted nothing to do with her, all Lilly wanted for the rest of the night was to get a picture with Polly. I had to get the boys in on this one and the look on Polly's face is priceless! I have no idea why Polly was so freaked out by Lilly, they're both so sweet!
In Athens, we played a bunch of games, the boys went bowling (Reed rolled his first strike withOUT bumpers) the girls went shopping, and then we went to the UGA basketball game on Sunday night. It was a great weekend!!

Today was a good day
Thanks to my sweet family, a great bunch of friends and then all the awesome extended family, today's 37th bday was an absolute blast. It started last Friday with lunch in downtown Woodstock with a great group of girls and also celebrating Lorin's bday. (Shhhh, she's quite a bit older, but who cares!?!)
Last night we were supposed to have the boys polar express/Xmas party with their buddies but about an hour after everyone got there, Reed vomited big time. He was so sad to make everyone go home! Thankfully, Julie took Nolan to her house so he could hang with Gracen and Bennett and Reed had todd and I to himself. I really don't think he minded the outcome because he got so much attention as it was all about him and what he wanted to do. We still watched the Polar Express movie, just with 8 less kids around. He made a sweet video that I sent to all the moms where he said "hi everyone, I'm feeling much better and I think we need to do the sleepover another time!" It was too cute!
A couple of the moms sent pics of their kids drinking the hot cocoa I sent home with them and sweetly wished Reed a speedy recovery. (Spoiler alert...he was fine after he got it all out!)
The elves left him a nice message hoping he feels better soon, and no, they are not trying to hang themselves. They were making it possible to write on the chalkboard with their tiny elf hands. Duh!
Reed wrote them a message at the bottom of their note we didn't take a picture of. It said "I'm feeling much better". Love that kid!
Then today for my bday, I was served an awesome bday breakfast and Polly chewed on my foot.
Then, we went to Wolf Mountain Vineyards with 3 other couples, drank some amazing wine, ate a ton of the best food ever and got to spend some time with Bogie and check out her tiny baby bump. We sure do love that vineyard and getting to see Linds and Stephen. Thanks for an awesome brunch!
Lastly, I was super spoiled at my mom's house with everyone for dinner. It was the best ending to the best day of 2014. Saturday, December 13, 2014
More elfin' fun
I have just a few nights of shenanigans to share (or more since it's been a while from the last post). I think the boys are waking up earlier and earlier to see what their beloved elves have done the night before.
Polly has been using Bellybutton Boogers as a chew toy and the other day, she chewed off an ear. What else are you supposed to do when an elf had an ear-ectomy!?! Why, send him to the hospital, of course! He had several stitches in each ear and the boys are convinced that the other elves sewed him up. Awesome.
They're seen here reading 'Twas the night before Christmas'.

Santa came to town
We were immediately greeted by Olaf who gave them a warm holiday hug. Then, signed in to tell Santa all we want for Xmas. The boys were so good and listened to every word Santa had to say. Too bad the 'big man' isn't around all year long to help with discipline!
Here's their photo from the same event last year.
After they discussed their lists and promised Santa they would be good (wink, wink), we headed to downtown Woodstock with our buddies, the Sigletary's, for the annual Christmas parade.
On the way home, Nolan told us, "that was so much fun tonight!" I think more than anything he was excited for all the candy that they brought home from the parade and multiple cups of apple cider and hot cocoa. Yep, sugar to all and to all a hyper night!!
