Giving thanks

The holiday season is upon us and last week we were able to celebrate the feast of all feasts with loads of family and friends for which we are thankful. Before the Halloran's left for Anna's soccer tournament in Orlando, we had a great big family affair at Nana and Poppa's (mom, I can't believe none of us took pictures! We need to be better about that next year!). The boys had off all week so they got to spend time with their friends while Todd and I slaved away at work. Thursday we went to Linda and Arvis' house for yet another magnificent gluttony gathering. There's no way any of us came away from that house even remotely hungry!
Thank you Linda and Jay for being the most wonderful photographers for the day!
After lunch/never-going-to-eat-again, the boys, Jammy, Grandy and I went to see the Penguins of Madagascar movie! It was so cute and a nice way to end the day of thanks.
Friday, Dawn and I did a little Black Friday shopping and crossed several people off of our lists! Shopping=success! When I got home from our 6 hour spree, the boys were fired up and begged me to take them on our hike at Leita Thompson. Even though I was running on empty, we took Polly and trotted around the trails for a while, making a stop at the dog park to let Polly survey the scene.
Saturday was full of football and neighbors. We had a few families over to watch the heart wrenching UGA bulldogs fall victim to the sting of a silly bumble bee. Oh well, better luck next year. (Shut it, Poppa! LoL)
Sunday was more of a lazy day so it gave us time to decorate our house for Xmas! We put the tree up Saturday but Sunday morning it all came together while listening and dancing to Xmas tunes. The boys were great helps, that is, until they wanted to decorate the angel that goes on top of the tree.  I kept hearing them behind me saying, "hang this one on it, now this one, oh my gosh, she has boobs. Put this here and now here, wait, she has 2 wieners now." I didn't know whether to laugh or have a teachable moment. I chose laughter. They are incredibly silly, young, and unaware right now, why ruin it!?!
Lastly, our resident elves made their way to our house last night, all the way from the North Pole. And they brought a new buddy with them! Now, we have Gurshall, Mr Bellybutton Boogers, and introducing... Arctic Twinkles! The boys were so excited to have another 'buddy' to hang out with the other two.
May your days be merry and bright!q
