Over the weekend of Feb 5th, we snuck the boys of our school, headed to the airport and took off in search of *colder* weather. Why, you ask? I was asking myself that very same question the entire plane ride to the snowy tundra. When we landed in Detroit for our connecting flight, we were greeted by a beautiful, fluffy snowfall, something us Georgians only hear about. Ashley picked us up at the Appleton airport and whisked us away to Neenah, where she lives to wait for the rest of the family to get home from work and daycare. Over the next few days, we did some things we would have never experienced at a southerner. The boys had a great time in the snow and any time I get to spend with one of my best friends since I was 8-years-old, I'll take any day!
One of Neenah's icon restaurants and the best thin crust pizza around!
Morgan!
Morgan...double fisted, she must have learned that from her momma!
Driving out on the frozen Lake Poygon to do some ice fishing.
Inside the ice shanty. There were 2 holes to drop actual lines from fishing poles in and then the guys dug holes outside the shanty that had lines attached to flags in case they got a bite. I quickly learned that ice fishing is more of a spectator sport for all involved. It's pretty much just sitting around, eating, drinking beer, and chatting with friends. Sounds like any other adult activity!
Here I am digging a hole with the auger!
The frozen lake looks like it goes on for miles!
Next up...Lambeau! Go, Pack, Go!
